something happened the other night that got me thinking.
i met a christian in one of the local malls and he did the usual preaching about jesus routine, trying to convince me that i am a sinner and how i need jesus and all that jazz.
he wasn't a jw, but rather he was from one of the local revivalist churches.. now what i'm thinking is that i've been out of the org for almost three years now.
instead it efectively surses them with burdens and heavy loads of restrictions (like shunning)
And didn't Jesus reprimand the Pharisees for doing the exact same thing? Funny thing is, I've seen that point be covered in studies, but none of them make the connection that their Witch Tower Bible Trick society is doing the exact same thing.

What bugs me the most is this elitist attitude that if you're not a baptized JW, then you're pretty much a scum bag, no matter how nice of a person you actually are.
Okay, if baptized JWs are such super people, then why do so many get disfelloshiped? Once again, they contradict themselves.

they drove me out of the limit today when they said that satan was not cast out of heaven and sent to earth until 1914. im like, "what the hell???

That amazes me to no end mizpah. You would think they would have enough common sense to realize they are putting a group of men on the same level as God. But like they say, common sense isn't too common anymore.
I guess where they are trapped is the number and intensity of meetings. They are kept so busy that they don't have time to really stop and think about what they are learning.

where I live I only see them in the train and bus stations standing and holding magazines up. they make no attempt to speak to anyone or even make eye contact. they just stand there like statues.
They did the same exact thing at my old college campus. You'd think people who are so passionate that they are right would speak to people as they hand out magazines, but no, just hand them and let students plod along.
jehovah's witnesses are known for their hypocrisy and double standards when it comes to how they treat others and how they want to be treated by others.

What I never understood is if they are so confident they have the truth, then why are they so anal retentive about not letting other people with different ideas speak?

after hearing of mother theresa's beatification today, which is a recognition of her tireless lifelong devotion to ministering to the suffering of others, i was wondering why the jws have no works of charity as a witness to christ's love for mankind.
is jw doctrine confined to the idea that all "good" public works should be in witnessing and proselytism alone?
with the amount of money the watchtower has, why is there no public witness of charity?
Sure Jesus taught, but he also fed. He never forgot to take care of the basic needs of the people around him. Can't feed your child a Watchtower when he is hungry.
Funny, I believe they covered the fact that Jesus was sensitive to human needs in a recent article. It's amazing how the articles sometimes tell them the real truth and what they really should be doing, but those ideals still somehow get squelched by the "faithful and not so discreet slave."

i used to remember that bethel always gave him (or at least loaned him for ministerial use) a real nice, tricked out, brand new lexus.
Do some in Bethel get perks that others in the organization don't get? You bet, and they figure they are enttitled to it because they are doing all the real important work. Yes, Jesus said to go forth and print books and magazines didn't he?
Speaking of perks, a dub was telling me about how if I get baptized, then the organization would help me out in case of a medical emergency, but they wouldn't do that for just a study. They have a sister who has cancer, and apparently the organization sent the doctors information and stuff.
i like the holidays.
they give me something to look forward to besides the asembleys and memoral and the deer hunt.
and to heck with you jw's who come in here with your smug ways, why don't you try questioning a few things for a change you will be surprized with what you discover.
To be honest, I kinda have mixed feelings about the holidays. My dad always gets poed on Christman for no apparent reason, I'm too old for Halloween, ditto for Easter, don't have a girl to impress on Valentine's, and my birthday has been dominated by my parents lately.
However, I don't see the big deal about celebrating holidays. Sure, they may not have Christian origins, but I don't think God will smite you with lightning if you so much as eat Turkey on Thanksgiving, like the dubs try to lead you to believe.
Piss on em; I'm partying my ass off when my best friend has a b-day next month. :)
